Inclusion and Belonging
We know that having an equitable and inclusive culture engages employees, inspires innovation and enables us to bring the best we can offer to the customers and communities we serve. Our employees are required to review and adhere to our policy prohibiting harassment or discrimination based on race, color, origin, creed, gender identity, pregnancy or related medical conditions, age, national origin or ancestry, physical or mental disability, genetic information or any other consideration protected by applicable law.
Everyone Seen, Everyone Heard, Everyone Celebrated
With the establishment of our Diversity, Equity and Inclusion (DE&I) Committee, Stewart is committed to representing, supporting and serving marginalized communities and groups with clear action in our recruitment, outreach and service processes. We strive to provide everyone the opportunity to succeed while valuing the strength our different perspectives and experiences foster.
Strengthening Our Employee Value Proposition

- Introduced a Childbirth and Bonding Paid Leave Program to ensure inclusive programs and practices appropriate for all employees and their families.
- Continued DE&I Council efforts through an increased focus on community service and employee resources.
- Strengthened our existing partnerships with Fannie Mae® Future Housing Leaders, the Appraisal Institute’s Appraiser Diversity Initiative, the Mortgage Bankers Associates’ Home for All Pledge and the U.S. Diversity Network, further supporting our recruiting and employee development strategies.
- Partnered with an outside firm to complete the U.S. Employment Survey in 2022 which resulted in Stewart earning the recognition of 2023 Top Workplace.

Generational Overview of Our Employees
Gen Y and Gen Z made up 49.06 percent of total hires in 2023, a one percent increase from 2022.
Percentage shift from 2021 to 2022 is due in part to our redefining the parameters of each generation in our new HR system.
Breakout of Employee Tenure
Giving Back to Our Communities
The Stewart Title Foundation is a part of our larger effort to give back to the communities where we work and live. Through our employee-lead Community Service Awards program, Stewart Scholarship fund, donation commitments to enterprise partners and board of directors charitable matching gift program, we expanded our giving more than 25% over our 2022 total in 2023.
Our Partnerships
Community Service Awards
Our Community Service Awards program recognizes the generous actions of our U.S. employees with a donation to organizations of their choice. Starting in 2021, the company provided awards from the Foundation to those charitable organizations, further supporting employees’ efforts in their local communities.
Since 2021, we’ve seen a 64% increase in Community Service Awards (472 in 2021 to 778 in 2023). Here is the breakout by cause for 2023:
Stewart Scholarship Fund
Since 1994, Stewart has supported continuing education for high school seniors and undergraduate students by awarding yearly scholarships to students whose parents work for Stewart. In 2023, we awarded 68 students with scholarships, more than in any other year.
