(HOUSTON) – Stewart Title Senior Vice President Matthew W. Morris presented a check for $10,000 to Julie Kihneman-Wooten with Habitat for Humanity International on Sunday, Nov. 12 during the 2006 Realtors® Conference and Expo in New Orleans. The funds will be allocated to Operation Home Delivery to benefit the New Orleans chapter of Habitat for Humanity.
Stewart, a national real estate information and title insurance company, presented real estate professionals who attended the conference with a unique opportunity to demonstrate support for their host city, which is still rebuilding due to the devastating affects of Hurricane Katrina. Booth visitors were invited to sign a pledge form for $5 and sign packets of colorful flower seeds. Each signed pledge form helped Stewart raise $10,000 and the seed packets will be given to Habitat’s new homeowners to help beautify their new yards.
Habitat for Humanity has completed or nearly completed 400 houses along the Gulf Coast through its Operation Home Delivery program. The organization aims to have 1,000 new houses completed in hurricane-affected communities by mid-2007.
