Maritza Brimeyer Quezada appointed as vice president and general manager

SAN JUAN, Puerto Rico (March 24, 2014) – Stewart Title Company announced today that its subsidiary San Juan Abstract Company Inc. will now be operating under the name Stewart Title Puerto Rico, Inc.  Maritza Brimeyer Quezada has been appointed vice president and general manager and will oversee the company’s day-to-day operations, as well as be responsible for developing the business.

“While San Juan Abstract has been subsidiaries of Stewart Title since 2010, the name change to Stewart Title Puerto Rico, Inc. officially recognizes the operation as part of the Stewart family of companies and the higher level of professional service and products synonymous with that name,” said Maritza Brimeyer Quezada.

Quezada began her career more than 9 years ago with Stewart in Tampa and because of her bilingual and technology skills, moved to Puerto Rico for a two-year assignment.  She served as the Puerto Rico operations manager before being named vice president and general manager.  She is a graduate of Clarke University in Dubuque, Iowa with a Computer and Management Information Science degree.

“With Maritza’s years of experience and ability to drive transactions to their close, we felt it was a natural progression for her to move into the vice president and general manager role,” said Steve Lessack, group president of international operations. “She will lead a team of experienced and knowledgeable underwriting, operations and business development associates to fully support the needs of our valued clients in this market.”

Stewart Title, previously San Juan Abstract, Inc., has been offering services and protection for 45 years to real estate buyers, banks, lending institutions, attorneys, builders and land developers.  The operation handles residential and commercial transactions, as well as other title and escrow-related services to reduce risk and improve efficiency.

The office is located at MCS Plaza #1207, 255 Ponce de Leon Ave Hato Rey. Maritza Quezada can be contacted at 787-753-1200. For more information, visit http://www.stewart.com/puerto-rico/.
