HOUSTON (Jan 7, 2004) - Stewart Mortgage Information (SMI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Stewart Information Services Corp. (NYSE-STC ) has announced Kevin Gugenheim has assumed the role of president and chief operating officer effective Jan. 1, 2004. This new title more accurately reflects the responsibilities Gugenheim holds, and consolidates the responsibilities for leadership and operational supervision of all lender related services under one person.
Announcing the appointment, SMI Chief Executive Officer Don O'Neill said, "I am very pleased to announce the promotion of Kevin Gugenheim to president and chief operating officer for Stewart Mortgage Information. Kevin brings 20 years of mortgage lending and operations experience to the position."
Gugenheim joined SMI as senior vice president in January 2000. During the 2001 business year, he accepted the position of executive vice president and chief operating officer. Throughout his tenure with SMI, Gugenheim has continually improved operational and financial performance, most notably in 2003 when SMI achieved record sales growth and profitability.
"Since joining Stewart in 2000," continues O'Neill, "Kevin has been responsible for a number of significant process, technology and management improvements which have directly translated into improved productivity and enhanced customer satisfaction."
Gugenheim has been responsible for customer development and innovative product solutions for a number of customers in the past three years. He has been a strong advocate for "vital factors" management, "A" player training and making cross-selling a significant part of each division's annual goals.
O'Neill concludes, "I am confident in Kevin's leadership and his ability to provide innovative solutions to lenders seeking exceptional origination and post-production services."
