HOUSTON (Feb. 1, 2005) - Stewart Mortgage Information (SMI), a wholly owned subsidiary of Stewart Information Services Corp. (NYSE-STC), has announced that John Axt has assumed the role of president of SMI's Texas Title operation, Priority Resources effective Jan. 10, 2005. Priority Resources offers a complete range of insured and uninsured title and settlement services to first and second lien lenders throughout the state of Texas.
Announcing the appointment, SMI President and Chief Operating Officer Kevin Gugenheim said, "John brings a great depth of knowledge in the title and mortgage lending areas and will continue to foster the growth of our company in Texas. His previous experience with bundled service offerings for lenders will be particularly helpful in creating a greater value added service to our customers."
Axt most recently served as group manager of the One Fee Services center for ABN AMRO Mortgage Group and returns to Stewart after having originally joined the company in 1988 as state manager in New Hampshire.
