HOUSTON - (January 2, 2002) Landata Systems, Inc. is pleased to announce the promotion of Gary Morris to vice president of its technical services division. Landata Systems is a wholly owned subsidiary of Stewart Information Services Corp. (NYSE:STC).
In his role as vice president, Morris will oversee several teams in data center operations, local area network (LAN)/wide area network (WAN) operations, training, Titlelogix.com operations, technical product management and the Landata HelpCenter.

Morris began his career with Landata Systems in 1997 as senior desktop analyst in the operations department. In 1998, he became operations manager over a three-person local area network infrastructure department. His responsibilities quickly grew in July 1999 when he became the manager of information systems, a department he was instrumental in creating, with a team of 15 network engineers. In September 2000, Morris was promoted to director of the technical services division.
Under Morris' leadership, the technical services division designed the infrastructure and provides support for Titlelogix.com, a managed solutions partner (MSP) tool for the title industry offering a web portal for title office automation applications and bundled IT services via the Internet. In addition, the division built a world-class network infrastructure and significantly expanded the use of the SISCO Wide Area Network (WAN) from 30 sites to more than 400 sites.
Morris is certified as an MCSE (Microsoft® Certified Systems Engineer) and CNA (Certified Novell® Administrator). He increased overall IT expertise within his division to include more than 26 Microsoft® certified and four Cisco® certified engineers. Morris began his IT career in 1981 as operations manager for a multi-line insurance agency, with the responsibility of designing and automating the company's IT and business operations. In 1988, he began network and database consulting for a regional securities broker/dealer firm. He later became IT/operations manager and CFO for the firm, where he stayed until joining Landata Systems in 1997.
