Wayne began his career in real estate at the age of 17 as a courier for a real estate law firm. Later, while attending college at Louisiana State University, he took a job as an abstractor. Wayne handled the abstracting of both residential and complicated commercial transactions. His abstracting experience led to a management position as vice president of a large title company in Baton Rouge. In this role, he managed a large abstract staff and coordinated an extreme workload, fueled by the bank failures in the mid-1980s for FDIC and HUD.
Wayne left the firm after five years to fulfill a lifelong dream of owning his own business. He purchased an abstracting business, Ascension Title Services, in a neighboring Parish. In addition to management duties, he was responsible for abstracting chemical plants, plantation homes, right-of-way projects and mineral titles. He sold the business several years later and worked as manager of the real estate division of a law firm in Gonzales, Louisiana. It was here that he really cut his teeth on the closing side of the real estate business.
In 1999, Stewart offered him a position as a Louisiana Sales Representative. Using his connections through his days abstracting and working in the industry, he signed up numerous local title agencies over the next few years. Eventually, he was promoted to Louisiana Agency Services manager – the position he currently holds.
Wayne has been married to his wife, Brenda, for 24 years. They have two sons, Michael and Andrew, and live in Prairieville, Louisiana, a suburb of Baton Rouge. Wayne enjoys golf and coaching his son’s baseball, soccer and basketball teams.
